Sonos ZP80 Zoneplayer
Monday, December 17th, 2007The Sonos ZP80 Zoneplayer is a wireless digital media streamer which you can use to stream digital music and internet radio directly to existing sound systems within your home.
If you’ve seen or own a ZP100 then you’ll notice that the ZP80 is much smaller in size and has a plastic case compared to the nuclear fall-out case on the ZP100.

The ZP80 is similar to the Sonos ZP100 but has had the internal amplifier stripped out but instead offers a multitude of outputs to let you stream to your existing sound systems. It is also possible to hardwire the ZP80 into a network hub via an ethernet connection and stream your music to any computer on your home network.
Control of the ZP80 is refreshingly simple compared to some of the other digital media receivers on the market. If you plan to get one you will also need the remote control, once you have the remote control you’ll be able to conduct a symphony of synchronised music to networked ZP80’s throughout your home! The ZP80 is compatible with the ZP100 in a network and the controller operates both models.
The Sonos software is easy to use and most important of all the sound quality is top notch, whatever components you currently have you will find that the Sonos ZP80 doesn’t degrade performance. The ZP80 is a great, simple to use streamer that provides awesome sound quality.
